BS 30416 - Menstruation, menstrual health and menopause in the workplace

The British Standards Institution (BSI) was the first National Standards body and is the national standards body of the United Kingdom.  BSI produces technical standards on a wide range of products and services and also supplies certification and standards-related services to businesses.

Each country or economy has a single recognized national standards body (NSB) and is likely the sole member from the economy in ISO, a global network of national standards bodies.

BSI has led the way in authoring the British Standards Guide for Menstruation, menstrual health and menopause in the workplace (BS 30416:2023).  It is currently the only Guide of its kind.  Whereas the introduction specifically sites UK stats, the guidance it gives on developing policies and practices that are supportive of employees in the workplace experience menstruation or peri/menopause are applicable to all countries.  (US specific stats can be found in the Lifting the Glass Ceiling white paper and US Market Overview).
